PAUL ANHEUSER Scheurebe 2007 (GER)
Aisle 7B $11.99 per bottle
This uncommon white grape makes for an exciting Summertime white. Aromas of gooseberry, guava, mineral and herb are almost reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc, but on the palate it is a different story. In the mouth this wine features the German trifecta of Sugar, Acid, and Mineral to create a wine that is sweet but balanced and very refreshing, with a unique compliment of tropical fruit rarely seen in German wine.

MICHEL TORINO Torrontes Don David 2008 (ARG)
Aisle 7B, $13.99 per bottle
This is not only a terrific white wine selection to mesh against the heat of the summer but is also one heck of a conversation starter. The vineyard of 1,500 acres sits 6000+ feet above sea level and with 340 days of sunshine and only 3-6 inches of rainfall per year it plays as the setting for the grape Torrontes. Torrontes is fascinating as it blows off an intriguing bouquet of candied ginger, lemon cake and rose water. This might leave you to believe the wine will be sweet but be for certain my friends this vino is bone dry. Don David Torrontes is crisp and clean with a lot of seductive and ripe fruits. The sharp acidity falls in line after a splash of melon, lime zest, mineral and hedgerow pungency. As far as the grape Torrontes goes, this is the cream of the crop.

ALBINO ROCCA Rosso di Rocca 2006 (ITA)
Aisle 9A, $ 15.99 per bottle
Albino Rocca is widely respected as being among the top producers in Barbaresco as well as a constant innovator, and this rosso is a great example. 10% Barbera adds soft ripe cherry fruit tones to the powerful base of this wine - 80% Nebbiolo, which delivers classic aromas of licorice and violet and vibrant tannic acidity. These components are rounded off smartly with dry stone minerality and dark berry fruits from the addition of 10% Cabernet Franc. Harmonious and lively, loaded with flavor and smart in its construction, this drinks far beyond its price and is a welcome alternative to the more expensive Langhe Nebbiolos.

ALLEGRINI Palazzo Della Torre 2008 (ITA)
Aisle 9A, $ 18.99 per bottle
This wine is produced using an innovative Ripasso method. Well-structured, smooth and rounded, this wine is characterized by a long, elegant finish. Deep ruby red in color, it has a delicious wild berry perfume, with flavor of raisins. The grapes Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Sangiovese from the Palazzo della Torre vineyard follow two different paths: 70 % of the grapes are vinified immediately after the harvest, the remaining percentage is dried until the end of December. At this point, the wine ferments again with the dried grapes. This wine will age easily for 8 - 10 years.

ELIZABETH SPENCER Pinot Noir 2007 (USA)
Aisle 6A, $ 34.99 per bottle
A big and bright nose displaying loads of ripe dark red fruit, strawberry preserves, and a hint of earth. Wow. The palate follows with ripe dark red fruit, floral perfume notes, and a bit of oak on the end. A full round body with lively acidity and nice tannins is oh so appealing backed by the depth and richness of the wine. Still young yet, give the bottle either time to age, or time to breathe, and the reward will be great.

RENEGADES Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 (AUS)
Aisle 7A , $13.99 per bottle
Even though Shiraz has become the mainstay of Australian wine drinkers, this beautiful Cabernet from Clare Valley will make you think again. Renegades is a special project, where each vintage a different winemaker is invited to make the wine. For 2007, it is Justin Ardill, a great believer in fine hand crafted wines. When you drink this Cab, you will be impressed with its nice ripe raspberry fruit, and the traditional hints of cassis and mint that are hallmarks of great Australian Cab. Perfect for whatever you are grilling tonight!
