Drew Estates: The Rebirth of Cigars
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Working in the humidor at The Party Source, I have had the chance to meet and talk with the newest members who appreciate the leaf. It has been a pleasure to be able to talk with and offer suggestions to someone who is just getting started in this great new hobby. Essentials of a Humidor As a cigar enthusiast one of the most important things you can own is a humidor. Regardless if you purchase a few cigars at a time or a whole box, proper storage is essential and a humidor will help to protect your investment. Cigars, like wine, are organic and their flavors will naturally change and mature over time. Choosing The Perfect Cigar When I’m choosing a cigar, the most important qualities are burn and construction. If it doesn’t smoke, flavor means nothing. I can’t tell you how many times, the only cigar I had with me had a plug, unraveled or was rolled too loose. By carefully inspecting potential cigars one can drastically reduce the amoun .... Rum & Cigars, The Forgotten Pairing Before my discovery of fine wine and spirits my drink of choice when smoking cigar was beer or an occasional vodka tonic. The more I learned about cigars and spirits, the more adventurous I became in my liquor consumption. Camacho Triple Maduro, A Triple Crown 2007 was a very busy year for Camacho, as they introduced us to an innovative social networking website Social Cigar, as well as, introducing a couple of new lines. Of the new lines introduced by Camacho, none was so well received as the Camacho Triple Maduro . The most distinguishing attribute of the Triple Maduro is that it is .... Mi Barrio, Nuts Spice and Everything Nice! Mi Barrio is another new release from my buddies at EO cigars, who have been smoking hot. The REO and Vibe started things going. Then the 601 was knocked out of the ball park and put EO cigars firmly in the ranks of great cigars. Most of you have smoked the Cubao by now and know that this is one of the best new cigars of 2008.We .... La Aroma de Cuba Especial Edicion; Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner The La Aroma is just a great looking cigar. The Ecuadorian sungrown wrapper is smooth and has a nice oily sheen. The Nicaraguan filler and binder give the cigar a solid but not firm feel. The aroma and flavor on the prelight draw has some cedar and barnyard notes and a sweet taste from the wrapper. Looks, smell, taste, perfect c .... Rock Patel Renaissance A lot of great new stuff will be hitting the shelves of your local B&M this September. If the production cigar is anything like the IPCPR samples then the Rocky Patel Renaissance will be a butt kicking. This cigar is a full power, flashback of Rocky Patel cigar's of old. Remember how those first RP Edges could kick you in th .... Liga Privada No. 9, A Change for Drew It's hard to pigeon hole this cigar. The white, hand printed label makes this dark wrapper appear almost black in color. But don't let the appearance fool you. The Liga Privada may look like a kick butt cigar but it smokes a lot milder then it look's. Maybe a medium body cigar but for me it was more mild to medium. Illusione, Big On Flavor I love my Illusione cigars, so this morning I pull the smallest of the line out of the humidor to enjoy with my coffee. The Illusione 68 is a 4 inch by 44 ring and a nice relaxing 20-25 minute smoke. This is a great size to jump start your engine in the morning. |
